The Dept. has always exerted the best of its effort to meet the objectives of achieving technical excellence in the areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering such as Power Systems, Power Electronics and Drive systems, Energy systems, Instrumentation control, Industrial Automation, Analog and Digital Electronics, Signal processing, Microprocessor and Microcontrollers. The faculties always participate in various Faculty Development Programmes (FDP), and Short Term Training Programmes (STTP) under TEQIP, conducted by various National level institutions, which expand the teaching quality. The dept. has well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories to complement the theoretical coursework with the help of technically strong instructors.
The department frequently arranges guest lectures by eminent persons from the institutions like NITs, IITs and Industries, to nurture knowledge. The students are actively involved in organizing various events through professional bodies like IEEE, ISTE which improves the professionalism and leadership quality. Many student projects are done with a research perspective to create the research culture in students.
To impart the knowledge in Electrical Science and Technology to meet the international standards and to make the Electrical Engineers ethically and emotionally strong enough to meet the technological challenges and thereby rendering the best service to the society and ensuring the welfare and security of the nation.

Department has enough number of class rooms for the smooth conduct of the courses. Moreover new construction over the existing building is being done for creating facilities for Post Graduate programs planning
